Mahmudu Bajo, the defensive midfielder from Gabone, was one of the biggest revelations at the u20 World Cup, held in Argentina. Player transferred to Slovakia's Podbrezova just before the World Cup, but if he continues to demonstrate his potential, he shouldn't stay there too long. He's a hard-working player who has had a long and difficult road to get to where he is right now. At one point in his life, he even became a bricklayer in Gambia to be able to buy football boots and last month we had the pleasure of seeing him shine for his national team.

He is an aggressive player in recovering the ball and anticipates opponents well, due to his good reading of the game. He reveals a good relationship with the ball, varying the center of the game whenever necessary. He demonstrates security in possession and uses his body well to protect the ball from his opponents, due to his physical power and his long legs. A comfortable athlete under pressure, he always decides quickly and well, playing almost always on the first touch. He reveals the ability to take on the construction phase, trying to play simple, always with his head up and executing good passes, both short and long. He is an intelligent, intense player and demonstrates a positive competitive attitude. He is an athlete who deserves higher flights and is curious to be observed in contexts superior to which he currently fits.
