Oleg Ocheretko

Oleg Ocheretko is a 22 years old Ukranian under 21 international who stands at 1.81m tall. A central midfielder who displays intensity and aggression in his play and is agile. He has good ball skills and excels at passing, both short and long, to vary the center of play and cross. He has good tackling ability, closes spaces well, and reads the game well.

A central midfielder of average height (181 cm), he's agile and has a long stride. He has a good relationship with the ball, is good at short dribbling and has a good first touch to guide the ball to his next action. He takes control of the game and the build-up phase by dropping down the field between the center-backs, being able to also drop into the lines to receive and connect the defensive sector with the offensive sector. He retains possession well, protecting it well from opponents and excels under pressure by hiding the ball through short runs. He displays quality in terms of passing, which he uses to deliver deep passes to his teammates. He has good short passing, is always assertive, varies the center of play well when necessary, and crosses well to serve his teammates. He has good spatial awareness, finding empty spaces and arriving well in the box, demonstrating good mid-range shooting. Defensively, he is aggressive, closes down spaces well, reads the game well, and has good timing in tackling, winning back possession on several occasions. An intense, hard-working athlete with good vision and a wide range of action, he's very involved in the game. His weakness is physical duels, so he can improve. A player with potential who was on loan at Karpaty Lviv and promises to be a strong bet for Shakhtar Donetsk this season.
