Rei Umeki

Rei Umeki is a 19 years old Japanese under 20 international who stands at 1.71m tall. A right-back of average height, he's quick and agile in his movements. He displays variability in his movements, executing overlaps and underlaps to reach the final third for good crosses. He has a good relationship with the ball, controls the play, and is assertive in passing. He has good positional awareness, anticipates opponents well, and is a good tackling player.

Player of average height (171 cm), agile and fast. He has a good relationship with the ball and good short dribbling skills, allowing him to escape tight spaces and when under pressure from opponents. He demonstrates his ability to reach the final third with variable movement, capable of overlapping and underlap his winger to reach the byline, where he serves his teammates in the box with precise crosses. He carries the game from behind, through controlled and vertical driving and arriving into the area. He assists in the build-up phase, demonstrating good decision-making and assertiveness with short passing. Defensively, he demonstrates good tackling ability, recovering possession several times, closing spaces well, and is solid in defensive one-on-one situations. He displays good positional sense, allowing him to intercept opponents' plays, has a good reading of the game, and anticipates opponents well. His weaknesses lie in his efficiency in duels and aerial play, which is why he's not always the best. A player with potential who plays in the Japanese second division, Imabari, and was a key figure for the Japanese national team. I see him already having the current level of performance to join a Japanese first division club to establish himself and develop, and then in the future, be able to transfer to European clubs.
